The Attorneys On Retainer Association (“AOR”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our online users (both affiliates and guests) (“you”) by adhering to this policy. AOR is a nonprofit association backed by The Attorneys For Freedom Law Firm (“AFF”), an Arizona-based law firm. AOR is committed to its mission of supporting firearms and safety training and education and related causes, and members of AOR are also provided certain coverage benefits through AOR’s risk retention group, including legal defense of certain civil and criminal matters by AFF. Accordingly, some of the information provided to AOR and/or AFF is protected from disclosure by the attorney-client privilege and/or the work product doctrine. Other information provided to AOR is confidential, and AOR takes affirmative steps to keep that information confidential. This is further described in this document. For information on the rights of consumers under various state privacy laws, and our handling of Personal Information of residents of those states, please see the section titled “Privacy Rights for Residents of Certain States” below.
II. PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The Personal Information that we collect depends on the nature of the relationship we have with you. Below are some of the ways we may collect and use Personal Information and our legal or business purposes for doing so.
Users of our Website: We collect several types of information from and about users of our Website, including information that personally relates to or identifies you, such as your name, password, postal address, email address, home or mobile telephone number, or any other identifier by which you may be contacted online or offline.
For AOR members, this information may also include account-related data such as membership status, login activity, portal usage history, communication preferences, and records of interactions with member services or support.

Surveys, Email Communications, and Marketing: We send marketing emails to AOR members and Website visitors, such as to inform you about membership information, pages you viewed on our Website, and promotional events. Sometimes these emails contain surveys that ask for demographic information, including your age, geographic location, and gender. You may also sign up for our mailing lists by providing your email address. We refer to this information as “Marketing Information.” Email recipients may always opt out of any email category at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions included in the email message.

If call recording or monitoring is used, we will provide notice as required by applicable law.
Information You Provide to Us: The information we collect on or through our Website may include information that you provide by filling out forms on our Website. This includes information provided at the time of registering to use our Website, signing up for newsletters or email notifications, posting material, or requesting further information. We may also request information from you when you report a problem with our Website. We may keep records and copies of your correspondence, including email addresses, if you contact us. We do not use these tracking technologies on pages where you enter sensitive personal or case-related information. For example, Meta Pixel and Google tags are not used on intake forms to join AOR, legal consultation pages, or any pages where you submit case details.

Member Account Management and Retention: We may use Personal Information and usage data associated with your member account to support account continuity, member retention, and service improvement. This includes maintaining your account history, monitoring membership status, facilitating renewals, remembering user preferences, providing customer support, and ensuring uninterrupted access to member benefits and portal features. We will utilize this information to provide services and support in the event of a self-defense incident covered by the policy issued by our risk retention group, Attorneys For Freedom Risk Retention Group (“RRG”) and where required for RRG compliance. AFF utilizes this information in the event you contact us regarding a case or claim and will share it, as applicable, with local counsel AFF engages on your behalf pursuant to that RRG policy.
We may also analyze aggregated and individual account activity—such as logins, feature usage, content interactions, and support requests—to better understand how members engage with our services, to improve functionality, develop new offerings, identify service issues, and enhance the overall member experience.
Member Outreach and Transaction Support (including abandoned checkouts): We may use your contact information (including phone number) to contact you regarding your membership or transactions, such as assisting with account creation, completing registration or checkout steps you started but did not finish, confirming membership status, responding to questions, providing support, addressing technical issues, and sending service-related communications (e.g., billing, renewal, security, or policy updates). Where required by law, we will obtain consent before sending marketing calls or messages.
Service Providers and CRM Platforms: We use trusted third-party service providers to support our operations, including customer relationship management (CRM), membership administration, communications, analytics, and support services. These providers may process Personal Information on our behalf and only as necessary to perform services for us, subject to contractual confidentiality, data protection, and security obligations. One such provider is Salesforce, which we use to manage member accounts, track communications, support onboarding and retention efforts, and provide customer support.
V. SOCIAL MEDIA FEATURES
Our Website may include social media features such as the Facebook like button, Twitter (X), and share buttons. These features are interactive mini-programs and may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our site, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. Social media features and widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Website. Under our Privacy Policy, we may disclose information to investigate and defend against any third-party claims or allegations, to assist government enforcement agencies, to protect the security or integrity of the services, or to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of AOR, our users, or others.
We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:
Disclosure of Your Information for Third-Party Advertising: If you do not want us to share your personal information with unaffiliated or non-agent third parties for promotional purposes, you can opt out by checking the relevant box located on the form on which we collect your data (e.g., the registration form, newsletter, or email alert signup). You can also always opt out by checking or unchecking the relevant boxes or by sending us an email with your request to marketing@attorneysforfreedom.com.
If we have sent you a promotional email, you may send us a return email asking to be omitted from future email distributions. We do not control third parties’ collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However, these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. You can opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”) on the NAI’s website.
Telephone Communications: If you do not want to receive marketing-related phone calls from us, you may request to opt out by telling us during a call or by emailing marketing@attorneysforfreedom.com with your request and the phone number you would like us to suppress. Please note that even if you opt out of marketing calls, we may still contact you by phone when necessary for transactional or service-related reasons, such as account support, billing, fraud prevention, or security, and AFF may still contact you regarding legal representation as applicable.
VIII. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We maintain generally accepted industry standards to protect the Personal Information that we collect from unauthorized access or disclosure. We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect Personal Information, including, for example: multi-factor authentication; physical access restrictions; electronic access restrictions, and strong authentication protocols; access restriction policies; firewalls and anti-malware; and employee cybersecurity training. We also comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards that require merchants to implement security measures for credit card information. We never have access to your credit card information, as it is tokenized in accordance with the Payment Card Industry.
While we strive to protect your Personal Information and privacy, no data transmission or storage is 100% safe. We cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information disclosed or transmitted to us and cannot be responsible for the theft, destruction, or inadvertent disclosure of Personal Information.
The safety and security of your information also depend on you. Please note that opt-out requests may take up to seventy-two (72) hours to process. Please also note that at times we may need to send you email communications that are transactional in nature, such as service or termination announcements or payment confirmations, which are communications you will not be able to opt out of.
If you are not a member of AOR and you would like us to remove your personally identifiable information from our database, please send a request to marketing@attorneysforfreedom.com.
We are not responsible for removing your personal information from the lists of any third-party services or other third parties who have previously been provided with your information in accordance with this notice.
XII. GOVERNING LAW, FORUM, AND VENUE SELECTION, WAIVER OF JURY TRIAL
This Privacy Notice and the rights and obligations hereunder shall be governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the substantive laws of the State of Arizona without regard to principles of conflicts of law. All matters in controversy related to this Privacy Notice. You shall be adjudicated in a court of competent jurisdiction in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you hereby consent to the personal jurisdictions of such courts.
YOU HEREBY WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY WITH RESPECT TO ANY CLAIM, ACTION OR PROCEEDING, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING OUT OF, OR RELATING TO, THIS PRIVACY NOTICE TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
